Gipsy Chef was founded in March 29, 2010.
My name is, well… Gipsy Chef (Gipsy spelled with an “i”). I cooked my first dish when I was 6.
I was born in Ukraine in 1975. When I was 13 my family moved to Israel. A few years later I have attended a military school for three years. I was destined to become an Fighter Jet Mechanic.
But this was not to be… I served in the Israeli army as a paratrooper for three years achieving a rank of Staff Sergeant.
In the end I became a computer hacker. I worked for many IT companies in Israel before I came to US.
My hobbies changed from riding horses to riding motorcycles to Skydiving but I always retained two passions: Photography, Making and Eating Good Food.
In the US I was exposed to many different cultures and I absorbed them as any other new thing I liked. I loved collecting and cooking Indian recipes. For 6 months I became a vegetarian and I was cooking exclusively South Indian cuisine.
I have traveled widely. I have been to China, Russia, Middle East and Europe.
All those experiences had influenced my cooking style.
I love horses, motorcycles, photography, web design and movie making.
But most of all I love food.
I would like to invite you to share my passion.
I record a video of every dish I make. I will record at least one a week. Enjoy and feel free to comment.
